Roundtable discussion with the Minister of Learning

We organized a meeting between the Honourable Andrew Thomson, Minister of Learning and leading Saskatchewan technology companies. The discussion provided the Minister with constructive input on how the private sector could help the Department of Learning with services, innovations and technologies.

With the election of a new government in Saskatchewan in November of 2003, and the appointment of Mr. Thomson to oversee the Learning portfolio, we felt it was time for key private sector and industry organizations in and around Saskatoon to formally meet with the Minister and the Saskatchewan Department of Learning.

The purpose of the meeting was to put ideas on the table and offer possible solutions that would help the government work in a more positive way with private sector technology companies.

The meeting helped to create relationships and open discussion between the Department of Learning and the private sector.

The industry representatives who attended said they were pleased at the Minister's open exchange of ideas and his willingness to answer some tough questions.
